Lotus Cultural Fest is a legal entity of the Buddhist Education Center (BECA) which is a non-profit organization established in 2004 in the Commonwealth State of Virginia. BECA serves the Buddhist community of local Vietnamese people as well as an ever-increasing number of Americans who’d found an interest in Buddhism and were taught meditation and other mindfulness practices in order to alleviate hardship, suffering and stress in their daily lives.  Early in 2009, a group of Vietnamese and American friends of BECA got together to discuss ways to better introduce the the traditions and culture of the Far East to the local population, as well as exchanging, adapting and blending this authentic culture with that of the rich, modern traditions of the West. The idea of organizing a cultural festival was formed. 

After lots of innovative thoughts and ideas, dedicated works and preparations, and tedious efforts of numerous volunteers, LOTUS CULTURAL FEST was born, and will be introduced for the first time in Fall of 2009, and will eventually become an annual festival that we hope will bring the local people together to enjoy the food (vegetarian of course because we are Buddhists) from different cultures, the genuine calligraphy arts and other handmade crafts, the music and entertainment, the fun activities for the entire family and most importantly the friendship and camaraderie of everyone involved.

 All donations are tax-deductible and proceeds from the Lotus Cultural Fest will go towards the building & construction funds for BECA.
